Born in the college town of Claremont, California, Mira discovered a lifelong passion for classical music at age five, when she began studying piano. Under the tutelage of University of Redland’s Blumberg, Mira began serious training in professional musicianship at age 8 when she first began her viola studies. With intensive training in music theory, history, technique, and performance throughout her childhood, she quickly began to speak and breathe the language of music.

Beginning in 1998 with the nationally-acclaimed Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra, Mira joined a community of young performers in the L.A. area who accompanied her to major summer music workshops and venues. She attended the Southern California Suzuki Institute, the Idyllwild Performing Arts Festival, The Young Musicians Foundation, Interlochen Summer Arts Program, and the Aspen Music Festival, where she studied viola with Julliard’s Masao Kawasaki and Cincinnati Conservatory’s Catherine Carol. In 2006, she joined the CYMO Orchestra in their Eastern European tour as well as their Disney Hall debut. In 2005, she started to experience a unique talent for teaching in a tutoring position and has been working with students ever since.

While studying at Georgetown University, Mira spearheaded her campus chamber music program under the supervision of Vasily Popov from the Moscow Conservatory and Ralitza Patcheva from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. In this unique academic setting, Mira started to craft her own teaching philosophy to mirror the holistic, interdisciplinary environment that supported so many of her students. Today Mira believes that musical success lies in tapping into students’ passions for motivation and incorporating mindfulness practice for improved concentration. Mira not only works to help students’ musical abilities grow; she utilizes this practice as a holistic system for improving discipline, creative capacity and self-esteem. She loves working for The Royal Music Academy because it provides students with a world class community of music that helps them form a lasting commitment to their instrument.
