Award winning guitarist, songwriter, and producer, David has always showcased a deep appreciation and study of American music. While group improvisation is central to David’s playing, his versatility as a musician, composer, and educator is not bound by a particular genre or style as he enjoys teaching all styles.

Born and raised in central Illinois, David completed a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and spent many years playing music around St. Louis and Mid-west. During his time in St. Louis with his rock band, his contributions as a guitarist, coproducer, and co-singwriter helped them win an album of the year for their 2009 release. After the release of their second full length album, the band went on to be named best rock band by the St. Louis River Front Times in 2011.

Later moving to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to teach music at Front Range Community College, David continued performing, writing, producing, and recording with several different groups. Since relocating to Los Angeles California to work toward a DMA (Doctorate of Musical Arts) in Studio/Jazz Guitar at University of Southern California, David joined the faculty at The Royal Music Academy where he enjoys instructing their hard-working and talented students.

“I enjoy playing the guitar because no other instrument is more accessible and diverse in technique, sound, and style. The instrument always keeps me humble. Music is everything and sharing knowledge with the net generation of musicians has to be the most satisfying job in the world.” David

David teaches guitar to students of all ages and teaches in the neighborhoods of: Beverly Hills, Silver Lake, Hancock Park, West Hollywood, Glendale, Downtown, West LA, and more!
